    About Sohbati Child and Parental Wellbeing

    Vrushali Kulkarni - Founder, Sohbati

     Vrushali Kulkarni is a highly experienced Pediatric Occupational Therapist with over a decade of dedicated service to children in 0-18 years of age group, children with neuro-developmental disabilities and their families. She also has extensive expertise in working with conditions such as cerebral palsy, Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and Down's syndrome. Vrushali is also proficient in mental health practices, particularly narrative therapy, which she employs to enhance attention, planning, emotional safety, and overall child development, while also supporting parental mental well-being. Vrushali also conducts trainings, so as to equip Healthcare professionals - Developmental Pediatricians, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Psychologists, Counselors, Special Educators and families, to be able to support children. Driven by a passion for evidence-based practices, Vrushali has established herself as a researcher, contributing to national and international peer-reviewed journals, including Disability and Rehabilitation, International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (IJERPH), and IJOT. She has presented her work at conferences worldwide, reflecting her commitment to advancing the field. Vrushali is the founder of Sohbati, an organization dedicated to Child Mental Health, Child Development and Parental Mental Health. Sohbati aims to provide comprehensive support to children, parents and caregivers. The organization emphasizes the importance of scientific, evidence-based advice, balanced with practical, experiential wisdom of a parent. Sohbati believes that 'all children are little adults with interests and skills'. Embracing these assets and addressing challenges in their way with parents/caregivers being at their best place mentally will lead children to be healthy and to grow organically. Sohbati also focuses on scientific and exploratory play for kids as a source of learning and growth. Vrushali holds a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy degree from GS Medical College & KEM Hospital, Mumbai. She is also trained in Sensory Integration and Neuro-developmental therapy. Her holistic approach and dedication to integrating mental health and Occupational Therapy make her a distinguished professional in her field.
